For those of you who have been reading about the doom and gloom that astrologers around the world are predicting this festive season here’s the deal, yes the configuration in the heavens looks a little precarious but not something we haven’t been through before.
December 10th when Mercury turns and remains retrograde until the 30th is just the beginning of a six-week journey that has the potential to be rather challenging. Mercury Mars and Pluto are going to be conjunct in the industrious sign Capricorn mid December and although Venus will be favorably aspected to this conjuction I’d still warn everyone to proceed with caution until mid January.
The last week of the year and first week of 2011 Mars and Saturn will square one another and this can cause some catastrophes for sure but once again nothing we haven’t endured in the past. Natural disasters are quite possible as well as stock market and industrial mishaps not to mention the potential for a terrorist attack or good Lord North Korea making an aggressive move.
The countries and people most affected will be those born under the cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. This doesn’t mean we shouldn’t carry on as usual but it does mean everyone should stand on guard. In my experience it’s often at the tail end or right after such transits occur that the worst encounters take place, when everyone begins to relax.
The festive season is a difficult time for many people but with the favorable Venus connection mid December I believe if we all reach out and help one another that whatever we face will bring us closer together, not further apart. With Pluto involved whatever transpires will affect the whole planet in one way or another.
So move into the next six weeks with love in your heart knowing that helping others and being prepared to do whatever you can to lessen the stress and pressure that people around you are going through is the best way to combat any tumultuous experiences that come your way.

The area of your chart that deals with work and money is actually quite good until the spring of next year. Regarding investments, real estate etc. you have until the end of May to tie up loose ends and position yourself for the future. My concern is that as prepared, as you might be to dedicate your life to nonprofit and small businesses I feel you will end up subsidizing your loss of income by taking on projects that deal with larger enterprises or teaching as well. There is nothing wrong with this and I believe it can work but don’t kid yourself into thinking you will be happy with less cash. You should be able to sell your home and make your move between now and late spring of next year.
